Here is that F2 Dark Purple. Of all the current grandchildren (of 'Sulphurea' X 'Clive Groves'), this seedling most resembles 'Clive Groves' [from what I remember of him]:

Oh, that _is_ lovely. I just started reading this forum [when I discovered that what I'd been calling a Labrador violet should really be called something else]... what happened to "Clive"?

Rh,
I'm still laughing... Clive Groves the person is still very much alive and well (and a very nice person as well). The violet that bears his name, didn't do so well where I'd planted it, and so it's gone now.
Now about that Labrador violet... what I've been seeing labeled as Labrador violet around here, I'm pretty sure should be a form of Viola riviniana. "Purpurea Group" or something close to that. I have a hard time keeping up with those taxonomists!!!
Thanks for the smiles, Tom
