ID this violet please

I was out clearing and ran across a few of these little violets. I did not plant them so they must have been here and I just never noticed. I am in northeast Illinois. My girlfriend said they were not birdsfoot violets. They are in a shady woodland area and I suspect they are a native violet.

If I had to guess really fast, I'd guess Viola sororia; mostly because it's very widespread and fairly common. But it looks like it could be any of the stemless blue type.

You might want to try identifying it through the dichotomous key at the AVS website.
