Does sweet violet like moisture?

| I'm preparing a container planting of sweet violets (Viola odorata 'Queen Charlotte') with water forget-me-not (Myosotis scorpiodes). They'll be in light shade, which seems to be recommended for both. I'm also planning to keep the container moist, since the Myosotis is a semi-aquatic plant. Do I need to be careful not to water too often lest the violets receive too much moisture? |

Hi, In my experience violets can handle quite alot of water as long as they are in the open. Can you send us some moisture down under to drought stricten Australia? Liz G. |

| Mine seems to have no problem as to how much or little water. When the leaves get less springy, I know it is time to water. When I water them everyday and it rains in between they still have no problem- pretty hardy little things, I've found. |

| Well, that's encouraging! We'll see how they like their new home. |
