Hello all fellow violet fanatics!I am trying to find out where I can find the scented violets.I have never seen,in person,a scented violet or had the joy of smelling one!I have smelled plenty of heavenly violet toiletries but I need to get the real thing!I have several violets and violas but no scents to them.Where can I buy the great smelling ones? Please also tell me a list of other scented violets besides Odorada and Parmas.I am dying to smell one!(Also need them to be fairly easy to grow!)Thanks a million!

Hi !

Sorry for that but only odorata and parma smell :-) That's the way it is :-)p
I'm so glad we have many odoratas in Europe (France and England are the best place to find them): we are spoiled ;-)p
If odorata (especially the common one which is invasive) is easy, parma is not always and cold winter can become a problem.

Take care.
Thierry.

Violetvamp, Logees in Ct has a nice collection of fragrant violets, but they are not listed in their catalogue. Probably best to call them direct.

I have not ordered any from this nursery, but they appear to have a magnificant fragrant collection: http://www.canyoncreeknursery.com/violets.html

I have tried to do trades to get fragrant violets but have only had a couple of trades. Wish I could get some of the lovely fragrant Parma in trades!

Hi !

That page is ok: http://www.canyoncreeknursery.com/violets.html
Canyon Creek Nursery has a really good choice of fragant violets :-))
However, beware, viola Rebecca and viola Etain (page called English viola) are not violet but pansy so, of course, they are not scented plants !

Good luck in your trades :-)
Take care.
Thierry.
