When to Plant Violet?

Posted by jmcat 5 CO (My Page) on

I have a small violet that I collected this summer, and am thinking of planting it outside (it is currently in a pot on our windowsill). When would be the best time of year to do this? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I would think as soon as possible would be best. That will give it the most time to beef up and get established before winter (it's bound to be happier outside than on the window sill, anyway). Do you know what species it is?

Thanks for the reply! No, I do not know what species it is. All I know toward finding the species is that the flowers were light(?) blue when it bloomed.
