| Hi folks !
Just wondering about sororia albiflora and its "daughter" called immaculata by Rob or "white ladies" by Groves or finally sororia albiflora alba by myself ;o)
The two do not have the same behaviour at all here.
Sororia albiflora has a strange behaviour compares with other sororia: it makes a very few pods (one a year in fact) and small flowers in autumn which hardly open. It could almost be an odorata or a sororia dreaming it's one ;o) ("stop looking around U girl and be yourself !!!" ;-))Too many years in Europe ? ;o)
However, sororia albiflora alba makes lot of pods and no bloom in autumn like every sororia.
Do you have the same ?
All the best :-)

| hi thierry, i have not noticed a difference in the habits of the various sororia forms here. it may be possible that one of the white forms is a white flower variant and the other is an albino. albino forms lack pigment in the entire plant, not just the flower. it may be that fertility is lower in such a mutant form. something to consider, anyway. the variegated queen charlotte seems to produce no seed at all, so there must be some other changes in that plant than just leaf variegation. perhaps a similar factor can affect albiflora????? rob... |
