Recipe for Candied Violets

Heres a recipe for candied Violets i got off a recipe message board. Enjoy. tura


Candied Violets

1 cup hot water
2 cups sugar
4 cups violets or 2 cups small rosebuds

Stem the flowers, wash and drain.
Combine water and sugar and stir until sugar
is dissolved. Add flowers and simmer over
medium heat until syrup reaches soft-ball
state (234 degrees).Stir with wooden spoon.
remove from heat and ontinue stirring until
syrup starts to crystallize and becomes like
coarse meal. Drain, shake excess sugar off
flowers. Cool on waxed paper. Store in
sterlized jars.
