Hello Yan,

mine has died last year during the winter.
It's very pleasant to know you have saved yours. Do you protect this plant against cold temperatures, in a green house ?

Hi,
Viola rubella is an evergreen shrubby species from lower altitudes in Chile where it does not experience more than slight frosts. I cultivate my plants in a small greenhouse with temperatures around zero (C) in winter. It seems the plants would be happier at about + 10 ° C then.
Best wishes
Gerd

Hello :-)

Great info GerdK, as always :-)
Just have to remember rubella is not for me :-/ It was -5°C here yesterday (hope none of my violas died), it's better now +5°C. That's fun and such a thrill to see my violet's leaves down 'cause of the frost and suddenly returning up when it's a little bit sunny: my most hateful joke I guess, I'll never get used to that one ;-)
Welcome posting Yan and thanks for it :-)

All the best folks for the incoming new year :o)
Thierry.

You could try growing it indoors, Thierry.
It looks good enough to eat; thanks for your piccy Limyan!
