Sorry no experience with these hoses, but I have a few curiosity questions if you be so kind to answer. What hose length are you using? What are the cost of these cloth hoses per the length you will be using? Is the hose material soft rubber with fabric on the outside? Do have the brand name and if there is a name type for this hose? You could try one and let us know if it does what it promises. Does it state on the box what water pressure it can withstand? I guess that was more than a few. Aloha

Somewhat larger versions of these hoses are used by contractors to pump out basements. The hose is pretty good. About 75 psi is normal.

They don't suffer a lot of abuse. Don't drive over them. Don't step on them when they are on gravel.

They are also easy to kink.

I've never used the small ones.

However a hose reel will hold a 100 feet of hose, If you have a very small garden, Lee Valley sells a setup with 50 feet of 3/8 coiled hose. You can buy a wire rack to hold the coiled hose by your tap. When coiled, the hose coil is about 6" in diameter and 3 feet long. We have one in our kitchen to use for watering all the house plants.

I heard someone talking about their sister buying a flat hose off TV. It worked, but she had to unroll all 50ft of it to use it. I don't know if that was just the super gimiky TV hose, or if that is all flat hoses, but it is something you should look into.
