What is it and how can I eradicate it?

I live near Atlanta and this weed seems to thrive in shadier, more damp areas of the yard (where the fescue is thinner). I've tried Ortho spot treatment weed killer without any noticable effect. Any thoughts on what it is and how I can kill it? Thanks.
