| I live in Central Coastal Florida. These guys keep showing up around the edges of my lawn, but until now kept getting mowed before I could take a picture of them. What is it?

That looks like some kind of bulb, maybe Allium.

I looked it up, and it's not Allium. it's sort of spongy, or soft, and it grows "flat" like a bird of paradise or traveler's palm. (Though it's obviously neither of those.)

There are hundreds of Alliums, but lots of other possible bulbs too, you may want to put this one on the bulb forum. Have you smelled the torn foliage? Forgot to ask that before.

It smells like "nothing." Just smells like fresh and green. Like grass, only VERY faint.

I wish it WERE. I have tons of daylilies and would love to have more. Alas, it's not. I don't know how to describe it... the leaves feel sorta spongy.

OMG... I stand corrected! It IS a daylily! How did it get down the slope? Does it propagate from seed???
RE: Weed ID please
| | |
Yes, that's a daylily! Yes, they all propagate from seed.

Yay! I dug them up and moved them to where I have mixed Daylilies and Amaryllis! Now that I know what to look for, I'll have as many as I want and then some! Soooo happy!
