yes, you can use it. it ONLY affect plants it directly comes in contact with so no need to wait before planting. i actually row up my garden, plant the seeds, then a few days later i spray the whole thing with roundup to kill the weeds that try to sprout. the trick is you have to spray BEFORE the desired plants come up, but after the weeds!

you can also use a small brush to "paint" the RU on the undesirables. once it dries, there is no issue with it affecting other plants.

Supposedly this is benign in the soil, but the EPA Ground Water people report finding identifiable traces of this stuff in water samples they take miles from where it is applied. Medical centers in California, Texas, and Florida report poisoning by this stuff among migrant workers but this gets little attention because migrants count for naught here.

It may or may not be safe to use around food crops. I wouldn't take a chance.

If applied to hard surfaces, such as sidewalks and roadways, any material, including Roundup, can move offsite. When applied to soil, movement does not tend to be an issue, since it binds tightly to soil particles until it biodegrades. The active ingredient for this product appears to be ammonium sulfamate. Older style herbicide, usually for woody brush in non-growing areas. Has some temporary soil sterilant activity. I have no experience with this material.
