Burning sometimes works for killing weeds. Also, if you can cut the weed before it reseeds itself its always helpful. Remember that weeds can draw up a lot of nutrients for your veggies if allowed to grow alongside them. Last year I ended up mowing between my bean rows because the weeds were so bad. As the weeds that got chopped up decayed, they returned many good things back to the soil. Another thing you could try is sowing cover crops and allowing them to grow with your garden. I'm trying it this year. I plan on sowing crimson clover and perinnial rye grass as I complete each section of the garden. I hope it will cut down on the morning glories... they'll take over if you let them. Good luck!
