Since a "weed" is a plant that you don't want growing where you don;t want it to grow only you can determine for sure if this is a "weed" in your garden. It is difficult to identify it but more than likely if you were to take a bit to your local University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Service office they may well be able to properly ID it for you.

Definately NOT parsley. I did sprinkle some poppy seed around and hoped it was poppies...but I don't think so.

If the plant is in with plants you want to keep do not used the suggested weedkiller, Casoron, in your beds. This product is a broadleaf weed killer and will kill you other plants as someone in the peony group is finding out.

i've spent a few years in a full fledged battle with these weeds. i have no idea what they are called. they get up to five feet tall.. grow quickly and choke out Everything. they take over everything regardless of sunny/shady wet or dry. i made the worst mistake when i first tried to till them under.. it only made the root system deeper. if you dont get EVERY bit of root, they come back. they have a tendancy to break off easily leaving the root peices behind. herbicides seem to only encourage them. to get them mpstly out of my garden this year, i pulled then as they were still small and sorted through the dirt by hand taking every root part out, then covering the area with weedblock and straw mulch on top of that. i still pull them every few days as my plants come in. .

get them before they take over everything. good luck.
