I have these little seedlings all over the beds in my front yard (see picture). There are three red maple trees in the front yard, right over these beds. I assumed that the seedlings were red maple seedlings and was pulling them up left and right yesterday. However, then I went in the backyard and saw a good-sized patch of what is definitely poison ivy. As I was Googling poison ivy images to make sure I was correct, I started to worry that what I assumed were red maple seedlings were actually poison ivy! I was wearing gloves yesterday, but I wasn't always careful about what I touched with the gloves and remember picking up a handful of the seedlings and chucking them into the compost pile after I'd removed my gloves. No rash so far, but I know it can take 24-48 hours to show (and I'm highly allergic to urushiol). I also have two little boys (1 and 3.5) who were "helping" me yesterday and are always grabbing at flowers in the beds and running through them with sandals and shorts.
