Lamium (henbit.) An ephemeral annual. Enjoy the show if you think it's pretty and not in the way, or remove before it makes another crop of seeds if it should go.

A "weed" is any plant that you do not want growing where you do not want it growing. Many people do consider henbit, a member of the mint family, to be a "weed" while others consider it a very good wild and nutritious food plant. This is an annual and is easily controlled if you do not want it by pulling. It does produce seeds quite prolifically and they seem to settle and grow where we don't want them.
