Triclopyr products for woodies?

I have areas of infestation in my yard--woodies like Ailanthis, some sort of elm, bittersweet and maples in and among my shrub border.
It is my understanding that 8% Triclopyr is the go-to product for application immediately after cutting these actively growing plants down. But, it seems like most offers online are for professional use and cost $150-250 per gallon. Yikes. Isn't there a smaller scale product that can be purchased by a homeowner that works as well as Garlon4, etc. and where can I find the product? Is there a reason why smaller sizes aren't offered when it supposedly works so well to clear out NNIs?
