Light color weed in lawn, can someone help identify

I have this light color weed in a couple patches in my lawn. It was in just one small spot last year and it seems to have multiplied in to a few small spots scattered across my lawn this year. It is not very easy to pull up either...
Thoughts on what it may be, and the best way to get rid of it.
