Hi,

I'm hoping that someone out there has had some success in eradicating this unbelievably hardy weed...we live in Chico, California and have six acres and although we have tried virtually everything I can think of, each season the star thistle takes more ground and is now covering more than half our acreage. The more the other weeds die out the more star thistle crops up, and the hotter and drier it gets, the more the thistle likes it! (We have horses and could potentially rotate where they are in order to spray if absolutely necessary but it will be somewhat difficult.)

I have been told that Roundup early, double-strength, with blackberry spray may work but so far it has not.

I'm hoping that whatever someone comes up with may also work on the poison oak on the back of our property...or any other ideas?
