melvee, when you don't get a response in this forum in a week you certainly have presented a difficult or puzzling question. I googled "safflower" and saw some foliage that was close, but not surely enough to make me go 'Yep, safflower!" I haven't grown it and haven't seen it growing. I doubt that anyone wants to confirm unless it is a pretty sure thing. If it goes to bloom, let us know. I have a feeling there are several of us that have not grown safflower that would like to know. Great dried flower. I've got it in a coulple of vases...
