You really have a huge stand of ramps (aka wild leeks)?? Did you know they are an increasingly popular and much sought after gourmet treat? If that's really what you've got growing there, I'm sure you can get someone to come and harvest them for you in the spring. Definately the stuff of tres trendy haute cuisine.

Yes, I have a huge stand of the nasty, stinky things - actually a couple of stands of them at this point, brought in from around Bradford, PA, as I recall. We can get people to take a few, but not enough to make a difference.

If we lived near haute cuisine it might be useful, but we're more in fried bologna and dippy egg country ;)

LOL, Diana. Seriously though, people will drive pretty far afield for ramps. I bet with a little google-assisted sleuthing you can find some desperate gourmands (or suppliers to gourmands) to come out to fried bologna country and relieve you of some stinky leeks.
