What is this?!

Hi,

We just noticed this weed has appeared in the backyard. I've searched around, and I can't find anything that looks like it--as it looks like marijuana. Most of the other weeds that are similar have seven leaves, while this one has only five.

We tried to pull it, and it is rooted very deep. Hopefully someone can let me know what it is.

Marijuana is an annual and would be easy to weed out, so rest assured you aren't harboring anything that will get you into trouble. I think it might be some kind of nut tree seedling. Are there any trees with similar leaves nearby?

No, in the immediate area it is all cedar and pines. But we do get a lot of squirrels and birds in the backyard (with several nests above that area), so one of them could possibly have eaten something further away and "deposited" it in the yard. I'll keep a lookout for trees in the area with similar leaves.
