Quack grass barrier

My lawn areas of my front yard are infested with quack grass and I am attempting to re-do the area and try to eliminate the quack grass as much as possible. I have sheet mulched all of my flower beds and they do a really good job of keeping the quack grass from coming up from the beds. The problem is the quack grass eventually creeps in from the grass into my sheet mulched flower beds and starts growing in between the newspaper and the mulch. Is there anything that I could use as a barrier for the quack grass in curved flower beds and also on straight flower beds to prevent it from creeping in? I really don't want to resort to using round-up on my entire lawn area if I don't need to. I read that quack grass will most likely come back even if you round-up the area a couple of times and then re-sod. Does anyone have any ideas, I would be grateful.

Thank you,

Carrie
