Don't know if herbicide resistant dandelions have happened yet. When the label says it "starts" to work within 24 hours sometimes that's all it means. With some herbicides and in some conditions the final death of the plant could take much longer. My personal observation also is that taprooted plants like dandelions can take more abuse than many other plants. A second application might be necessary.

I use a weed hound on dandelions. Its a weed pulling tool. Sometimes you may think an area has way too many dandelions to pull by hand... but if you spend about 10-15 minutes a week for a couple weeks, eventually you start to get ahead of them.

The weed hound works best right after a rain when the soil is moist.

This is an area that took me 30 minutes to walk and spray at the say time. I used to pull the things at our other house, but not here. My ex-farmer neighbor recommended Triplet (sp?).

He also informed me that our area has a dandelion problem this year, so it is not just me.

It is funny to me how many people will spray to kill dandelions and then plant lettuce! What a waste of resources.

Sometimes people think of dandelions as pests, because others criticize and complain about them. It's often good to take a look from another perspective. I think dandelions are quite pretty--the plants, the flowers, and the seed heads. One of my prettiest mounted specimens for botany class was a dandelion.

Lawns dotted with clover, English daisies, dandelions, or any little flowers, can be so charming.

Todays "conventional wisdom" is that Dandelions are weeds adn must be erradicated from the lawn, it is not "correct" to have a dandelion grow in your yard and you will be shunned by your neighbors if you allow that. So many people poison our environment in an attempt to eliminate those. Each time you drink some water you ingest some of these poisons people spread around, causing who knows what healthy problems for us. Many people also will spray not only the weed but the whole yard putting much more poison out there than is necessary.
Get your soil into good condition and grow a good stand of healthy grass and the "weeds" will be a very small problem, probably easily controlled by mechanical means, not poisons.
