Weed or ?

I recently tried planting strawberries, and after months of nothing coming up, I started to see some green peeking through. Imagine my dismay when the leaves were long, flat, and smooth edged, instead of toothed.... what is this? Any ideas? Is is a weed, or some weird kind of strawberry plant? Or did I get lucky and its something else desireable?

Whether that is a "weed" or not depends on your viewpoint because a "weed" is a plant you do not want growing where you do not want it. This, in a strawberry bed, could be a "weed", or if could be a green manure plant of cover crop depending on your viewpoint.

berrylady, that looks to me like something a chipmunk may have planted for you. I find that, and tightly packed clumps of sunflower seedlings several months of the year in some surprising places :) A couple of cheeksful of birdseed from someones feeder....
