I'm just starting my adventures in edible landscaping, and my first goal is to clear the land of things like dense brush, dead limbs, and poison oak. The trouble is, the poison oak has overrun a large part of the property. Small shoots have spread across the ground like a ground cover, large vines have crawled far up trees, and it's even scaling the side of the house! Texas has a very short spring and fall, and it is over 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside most of the Summer. Suiting up in long sleeves and pulling it all up by the roots doesn't seem practical. Is there a better way of removing or killing all this poison oak?
