Weed in my veggie garden?

I found these plants growing inmy garden. I do not know what they are. The previous owners grew various veggies and herbs in it, but I have no idea what it is, and I did not plant it. Any idea as to what it is? Please look at the link. [IMG]http://i17.tinypic.com/67650dj.jpg[/IMG]

1-You don't say where you live which could help.

2-It's difficult to tell from the angle of the pic but it resembles a sunflower.

It is not a sunflower, it look more like Redroot Pigweed, Amaranthus retroflexus or a member of that family.
