You gardeners are sooo terrific!!! Thanks for being patient with me and my pics. I have searched books and the web for name of these plants but had no luck, your all a BIG help.

looks like a very unhealthy russian sage?

Ooh ooh, I know what that is, but I can't reach in and grab it from my brain! Not a sage.

Well, I was thinking it was a Leucophyllum, but not in your zone! Also called Texas SAGE, by the way, Chinacat, though a member of the Snapdragon family, not the mints.
(Scrophulariaceae v. Lamiaceae)

A close-up of the flower and leaves would help.
