orange spaghetti type vine weed

We have a humming bird vine, that has this orange, very thin spaghetti type vine (weed) all over it. (I believe it may be related to the morning glory.) It is twining up the plant. I can't seem to find the roots to pull it out. It's not on any other plant. Could someone help me out? Thanks to all. Deb

Hi Deb,
I think you have Dodder, a parasitic plant.

Get rid of it now, even if you have to discard some of your vine it's attacking.

If it remains, it will flower and set seed -- not a good thing.
