Here is the other pesty weed. This might be some kind of grass. They are very tall. Spread easy.

Do you know what this is?

Not bahia, purple. Attached is a link to the seed head of that grass. I don't know what this grass is , though. I'd need to see more of the plant and maybe some actually in the ground.

Yeah. That's what's all over my yard, about half of the grass is that. Looks the same to me but if you see a difference, I believe you. I thought the little black things (the seeds I've always assumed) had already fallen off of the pictured plant. Do the 2 "seed holder" parts always make a "V?"

I've broken 2 pairs of scissors on this stuff this year.

Yes, the seed heads are always two-pronged. If gardendummie sent us a picture of a broken plant, he can't expect an accurate ID, can he? :-)

In the OP's picture, it looks like the 2 things at the top are the seed heads, but they don't meet to make a "v," which is what prompted my question.
