| Well, some will say Bahia is a weed in a lawn. I have 2 acres of Bahia lawn and it is slowly being taken over by some kind of Bermuda grass. Slowly this stuff is taking over. Is there anything that will kill the Bermuda and not kill the Bahia? I have areas that I've killed off with roundup to resod but I'm afraid it will just be a waste of time and money. |

| There is nothing that will selectively kill the Bermuda but not the Bahia. They are too closely related, and similar in requirements and growth patterns. But not being much of a lawn person, I truly am curious. What are the differences that make the Bahia good and the Bermuda a weed? They both seem to be heavy, coarse-ish grasses, highly tolerant of different soils, droughts, etc. And from the few pics I have seen, they seem similar in appearance. Is the Bahia prettier? Softer on the feet? Denser in growth? What is it about the Bahia that you are working so hard to hold on to? I really would like to know. Please help feed my ignorance with some info, it's favorite food [grin]. |
