You're right. So many "weeds" are native plants! Not that they're all suitable for a tended garden, but I too like to know what every plant is, even if I know I'm going to kill it (or just mow it.)

i do too purplenopp. i kill purple dead nettle, but i wanted to know its name. i allow some goldenrod, feverfew and a few other plants to be in my yard as they grow wild here. i just try to control them.

jessaka - if you can't get an id here try the Name That Plant Forum. Many people over there don't come here and there are some very knowledgeable people there.
