What is this plant/weed?

Hi there,
Our house was built in the 80s and since the day we moved in, four years ago, I have been battling this plant. It spreads like crazy, grows very quickly, pulls out very easy, and flowers into a red spindly looking thing.
Any ideas? Is it bee balm or something else? I even pulled one out and brought it to our local gardening centre. They didn't know either.
