aliska12000, the second one, if not poison ivy is probably boston ivy. Juvenile leaves can look similar. The link has leaves that have progressed further, but you can see the similarity.

horster, thanks much, that sure does look a lot like BI especially the one in the bg of your photo with dimples. Mine could be a slight variation of that.

I can read up on that, don't know if people have grown it deliberately in the past or what, at least heard of it. Also have the good old senior moment, the kind with 5 leaves, pretty much on top of that, too. Virginia creeper? Very common stuff that.

What the heck don't I have? Thistles for one, probably others. Dug them all out.

Those darn ditch lilies are a pest, too, and I'm finding seedlings I'm sure is that, at least not any of my regular daylilies, am pulling that, but don't know how I'll ever be rid of that stuff either. This year I'm cutting off the pods, but there will be more anyway.

well, this is my inaugural post - here goes!

The first weed you posted is Campanula rapunculoides (Creeping Bellflower). Adult plants are impervious to most weedkillers, although I have read that Dicamba can be effective. I've also read that weekiller containing Dicamba will travel in water and can affect ornamental plants and trees, so caution is advised.

That being said, although it's difficult and time consuming it can be dug out. It has thick fleshy roots that can go a foot or more into the soil - and these are the easy roots. It also has a secondary thread like root system and any tiny bit left in the soil will send up a new shoot.
