My husband and I have a little timber patch and these spiny weeds are taking over and we need to get them under control. I need to know what it is so I can take some action. These are getting real tall and seem to grow up under our big trees and are choking them. They grow along the base of the tree and up the tree like an Ivy. As you can see there are thousands of little spines and in the late fall they dry out and if you brush against it, they break off under the skin and you have to dig them out and itch like crazy. Please I need your help in identifying these. P.S. They are also choking out our Black Raspberries and Black Berry bushes
