Unbeknowst to myself I didn't know how notorious this weed tree really was. What is it notorious for?

The seeds are sharp, can dry out and sprout years later with little rain and soil (mulching) and have spread everywhere including my neighbours yards. Not to mention these seedlings sprout and grow fast! Most trees produce seeds that could be described this way (except the "sharp" part.)

I'm pulling the small trees out of the ground in and around my garden and probably will for the next year or two until there are none left. The ash beetle borer will probably finish the job for you.

I'm not sure if this Ash is considered invasive as I've seen it here and there around my city (Kamloops, BC Canada.) It is a native throughout North America.

Anyone else have anything to say about The Black Ash? I hope some of them survive.

Black Ash, a species adapted to wet lands, is native to eastern Manitoba. The link below while from the USDA can provide you with some information but you may want to talk with your AgCanada people about whether it is a good tree for your area. Generally it is not a good specimen tree in a yard.
