What is it?

I planted a Veronica "Foxy Lady" and the container had a few weeds on the sides which I thought I removed. I ended up with this mass of floppy foilage with what appears to be little white flowers, I pulled back the plant and you can see a spire from the Veronica sticking out of the ground.
