 o
Orange weed identification please

This almost iridescent orange string weed appeared on my Russian sage and is spreading rapidly. It appears to be an air plant.
Can anyone please identify and tell me how to get rid of it?
Many thanks

Never seen it in person but that looks like pics of dodder, a parasite.

Yes, it is dodder. Get rid of it before it seeds.

And keep watch for more dodder plants and/or seedlings. As soon as you see a seedling, remove and discard it.
