Garden weed 12'x12' - many stems

I have a weed in my garden that I'd like to ID. It's popped up fairly quickly over the course of about 6 weeks and is now about 12" by 12". At first I thought it might be the "Fairy" rose bush I pulled earlier coming back from the roots, but now I'm thinking not. Anyone recognize it? It doesn't usually droop over - it just got rained on in the picture.

I live just south of Houston, Texas in Zone 9. This is a closer photo of it - I posted a photo further away in an earlier post.

Just curious - does it have a particular smell?

It looks a little like American Beauty Bush. I cannot tell if the leaves are serrated.

The leaves are not serrated. They're also kind of glossy - I think American Beautybush is less glossy? I'll go smell it later today - haven't tried that yet.
