If you are going to mow it, I don't think you will have a problem.

I have been hit with an huge number of black raspberries growing on my property. It has gotten so bad that I can't walk thru certain areas without being scratched and cut by these guys. What can I do ? Any suggestions. I'm serious and jokes are not what I need here.

The other post was not a joke. If you mow and keep mowing the raspberries will not get tall enough to provide the roots food. Without sun hitting the leaves and making food for the plant it will eventually weaken. Most people do not have the patience for this and use a brush killer on the stems. One thing to be aware of if these are raspberries and not blackberries the stem grows one season then fruits the next and dies. While the stem is fruiting a new green stem will be emerging. There are new strains of raspberries that grow and fruit the same year.

Too much to mow. I have acres and acres where this is occurring. I gues I can do some pusking back with my bush hog in a few areas, but it is a huge problem and I would like to find another solution. JD Thanks maifleur for your input.
