Hello,

I am trying to identify a weed that has taken over a section of our yard in NW Ohio. It grows groups of five oblong leaves with serrated edges and spreads by sending out shoots across the ground. The biggest leaves are about an inch long. I'm guessing it likes the sun since it is growing on the south side of our property. It also appears to be somewhat drought resistant, since it is still green even though most of our grass has turned brown after several weeks with little rain.

The funny thing is I'm wondering if this weed may actually make a better ground cover than grass since it grows vertically much more slowly than grass and would therefore need less mowing.
