is this a weed

I have this green tall (5ft) plant with dangly flowers or maybe seeds hanging. The stalks are weird, and have like nuckles like bamboo, and has sleder thin leaves. The flower part is a pink color. it is gone nuts under my huge pine tree. it gets sun pretty much all day. it is nice and thick to the point where i might try and make a property line hedge, depending on what it truely is. thanks i will try to get a pic uploaded

That said, it's a weed if you don't want it.

A "weed" is a plant you do not want growing where you do not want it to grow. A rose can be a "weed" if it is growing where you do not want it to grow.
