 o
weeds of my wildflower plants?

Hello,
I have sown native plant seeds and wildflower seeds in Spring and very early fall. I did not notice the two kinds of plants until their reaching to half the sizes as they are now. They have grown so fast. I don't believe that they are two kinds of my wildflower plants. They are probably weeds. However, why had they not showed up before I sowed wildflower seeds? They have never been anywhere either. They just grow up at the exact spots where I sowed the seeds. They confuse me. Please check the pictures to see if they are weeds (I uploaded 2 pictures for each type of plant for better details). The leaves of the first type plant look like philodendron's, yet it bears vines close to the flower parts.

The second type is below:

Thank you for helping

A solanum. Perhaps a tomato?

The first looks like Citrullus or a relative in Cucurbitaceae family.
The second is indeed Lycopersicon (tomato).

The vine in the first picture looks sort of like a cucumber or zucchini (something along that line) plant to me. I've planted enough tomatoes during my life to know that the second one is definitely a tomato plant. I bet if you'd have rubbed the leaves and then smelled your hand, it would have smelled like a tomato. :) Maybe you had those plants there previously and they reseeded themselves. I know my tomatoes do that.

I have a question....what is that fabric-like thing in the background?

You have grown a fine watermelon plant and a robust tomato plant. They are growing very well. Might even have fruit soon!

Did you have a picnic nearby and spit pits and spill a salad? Or did you add compost that might have had viable watermelon and tomato seeds?
