An Acre of Dead Nettle chocking precious rootings

I'm just sick! I worked myself to death this summer killing off the lawn, tilling a huge area, planting moss and holding off on planting the rootings I was given, untill the moss took hold.

Then as if overnight, dead nittle weeds covered the entire acre, solid! No spot of ground lift untaken! I was hoping they would die of frost bit and not return, but alas, I was informed that their offspring would return 10,000 fold in the spring.

I sprayed roundup on some of them,(careful not to get the rootings), then it rained, so that was for not. It's too cold to go out again, unless that is all there is to do.

Q: What would YOU do? Spray weed killer again now, wait till the thaw (I'm so afraid of killing the rootings by accident.), or something else?
