What's the forum for my problem? (hedge collapsing

...under snow and ice storm?

We have a nice and healthy intimacy hedge of "Pyramidalis" cedar trees. My problem, esp. this winter, is to see it collapse heavily under the snow and ice, to the point where 8-9 ft tall trees bend to the ground!

I have an idea about fixing the problem or helping, but am not sure if it would be good for the growth of the individual trees.

I looked up the "other forums" and did not see anything on hedges.

I'd think somebody on the Trees forum might be able to help.

Check shrubs. I have had the same problem with cedars. They do not fare well particularly with ice and then snow.

If the snow is fresh and loose, you can use a broom to shake the shrubs and make most of the snow fall off. I'm not sure what to do about frozen rain and ice.
