| Hi Folks,
I'm trying to put together a list of perennials that birds like to eat from the seedheads of over winter.
I'll start off:
Agastache foeniculum - juncos
Echinacea purpurea - goldfinches
Thanks,
C. |

| Not the most attractive plant for birds but on MO birding mailing list I found reports of purple finch and evening grosbeak eating Coral berriy. If some is already growing in it might be worth allowing it to grow especially since I've seen it produce berries as an understory plant. |

| Here in my eastern WA yard, I have seen birds (American Goldfinches, Pine Siskins, Song Sparrows, etc.) eating from the seed heads of these perennials: Purple Coneflower (Echinacea) Green-eyed and Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia) Coreopsis Hyssop officinalis BN |

| I'm in the east and the birds here like coreopsis tripteris(quite tall) and the helianthus species. |

hello I know it is not a perennial but I have had gold finches and song finches feeding off my very tall amaranthus for the past 2 winters, and they both also like to eat from the seed heads of the very tiney sunflowers(the bushy ones with many flowers, don't know the name) michelle |

| Goldfinches love the seeds of purple coneflowers and small seeded annual sunflowers. I always grow some every year just to se the goldfinch antics when the seeds get ripe. |
