What kind of seed isn't attractive to raccoons?

Brand new suspended platform feeder and two nites in a row I hear it collapse under the weight of either a raccoon or a very tall deer pawing it down.

It's up about 5'10" from the ground. Could a deer stand and paw at this feeder?

Usually the raccoons I hear are Moms with squabbling kids usually down at the creek harvesting freshwater clams.

All I hear is the rustling of leaves, cracking of sticks as the moocher moves along the forest floor.

Would deer do this for the small amount of corn in the mix?

We do have 9+ deer herd but this sounds like a solitary critter.

First time using cheap store mix feed. The rest of the feeders have hulled sunflower or safflower and they don't get 4 legged pests. I used the cheaper mix for the doves and sparrows but if it's going to attract critters I might as well just dump the mix on the ground I suppose.

Is it just the small amount of cracked corn in this mix that's attracting attention of the 4 legged nightbirds?
