| Please see dirtgrls post (sick goldfinch in the house) and mine (saga of the puffed up birds)in the bird watching forum. There has been an outbreak of Salmonella affecting the finch family. It is deadly, incurable, and highly contageous. Clean all of your feeders with a bleach solution, clean under your feeders and your bird baths too. This is spread thorugh bird fecies and can be passed on to humans and domestic pets.

| After reading this post, I brought in all of my bird feeders and ran them through the dishwasher on extra high heat with bleach three times. BTW, I didn't have anything else in the dishwasher except the bird feeders. I sure hope that we don't see any problems down here. |
