No Camillia Blooms This Year

It looks like my camillia isn't going to have any flower blooms this year. It had lots of buds until some thing starting eating the buds. Evidently with the scarcity of food, due to the ground being covered with 4 inches of ice, at least one squirrel in my neighborhood developed a taste for camillia buds. The squirrel evidently plucks the buds from the bush and then sits on a rock and eats them. Evidently the squirrel doesn't like the outer petals because it leaves them on the rock. At first I had a hard time figuring out what the green petals were, I thought they were lima bean skins.

I always wondered why I never got very many blooms on my camillia even though I would have lots of buds. Now I know one possible reason.
