Hi, all. New to the forum here. In an attempt to familiarize myself with all of the wildlife in my new Florida yard, I too a pic of this new purple flower that I just noticed. About the size of a Hibiscus bloom. Any ideas?

RE: New purple flower in my yard

DayByDay,

It looks like it could be one of the shrubs in the Tibouchina genus, (Princess or Glory Flowers). If so, it is native to Brazil and not to Florida although I have not heard of any problems with this introduction...
